glimpse: Into a GuestHouse of April at Marine Parents

hi, friends! this is april from marine parents -- thanks to lindsey, i’m guest posting today as part of her fab Glimpse series :] we just moved to sunny san diego from podunk jacksonville, north carolina and we looooove it {possibly the understatement of the year}.

i’ve had tons of requests, mostly from lindsey -- she’s crazy!, to see pictures of our apartment. so i’ve done you one better! i’ve compiled some cutesy little collages of each room in our apartment here, and created a walking tour of our apartment that i share in a vlog on my own blog today! check it out by clicking here :] so let’s get started with some fun photos!

this is our living room where we hang out as a family every night after caleb get’s off work.... i’m usually way too busy chasing my crazy child during the day to sit down much *wink* a couple of my fave features in this room are our bright red desk that we got from IKEA {i do major blog & etsy work here during the day, usually tying up both laptops!} and our key hanger that caleb and i made together! fun, eh?

welcome to nap central! ok, not really.... in my dreams, maybe? this is our master bedroom, complete with clothes hanging from the posts at the end of the bed. i’m just trying to keep this Glimpse on the for real, you know? those bottom pictures are some of the little details i love in this room -- red&black salt and pepper shakers that actually have never had a grain of spice in them. we keep these two little shakers in their “hugging” position when caleb and i are together, and he takes the black one while i keep the red one when he is deployed {collective awwwww! *wink*}. also included in my faves.... our new bedding {i am loving the browns and blues! so relaxing} and the sweetest newborn picture of amelia with caleb when she was 2 days old {flanked by that garage-sale find blowfish.... yeah}.

when we moved from north carolina, we decided to decorate amelia’s room a little more girly/funky/princess-like. she got a fabulous canopy to go over her crib and a pretty hanging lantern from IKEA to light her room. i am in love with her purpley-pink princess room! and i think amelia likes it, too! she spends alot of time playing in there, or dragging toys from there to various parts of the house. she’s such a nut!

our sweet little galley kitchen is just the perfect size for us and all of our kitchen wares. but if caleb is digging in the freezer for a pre-dinner snack and amelia is crawling between my legs and the stove {very typical, mind you} then the kitchen feels as small as it may look. we manage :] on the freezer is our calendar that records our life {march was bare -- we just moved} and amelia’s farm game with other random magnets that she loves to chew on.
